A Water and Wastewater Agency Response Network (WARN) AKWARN HOME

MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT

The backbone of AKWARN is the Mutual Aid Agreement. The agreement provides the basis of understanding allowing for the network's ability to cooperate in emergencies. It covers topics such as ownership of equipment, liability, equipment damage, arbitration in case of dispute and a variety of other issues.

The AGREEMENT is being provided to you for your attorney, owner, board member or operator to review and comment on. Please contact AKWARN with questions regarding the Agreement.

Water and wastewater utilities are encouraged to execute the agreement and become original members of AKWARN. The AKWARN program will be coordinated by a state committee and through this website. An advanced version of this website will contain all of the information and details on how the WARN works as follows:

    1. The WARN agreement
    2. Policies, guidelines, and information regarding how to use the agreement during the requesting, provision and removal of aid
    3. Incident tracking, requestors, responders, progress, problems encountered, solutions, etc.
    4. Resource typing (what response team or portion of a team a utility can provide)
    5. Tabletop exercise design for practicing WARN activation/deactivation
